WWE Super Show-Down was a proud and exciting moment for Australian fans. Not only did they get a great show, but they got to see home-grown talent do good.
Buddy Murphy, who was born in Berwick, Victoria, captured the WWE Cruiserweight championship from Cedric Alexander. Murphy is now the first Australian to win a main roster championship.
Speaking to News.com.au, Murphy stated that his win was a dream come true, not just because he won but because of where he won.
“It’s pretty indescribable. This is WrestleMania for me. To capture what I said I was going to capture, the Cruiserweight championship, in front of my friends, my family, everyone that didn’t believe me and laughed at me for wanting to pursue this career of professional wrestling,” said Murphy.

Asked if he had been nervous about the match, Murphy said not really.
“A lot of people asked me if I was nervous,” he said. “Because I was about to wrestle in front of my family and entire city where I grew up, and I wasn’t nervous. Then I realized, why would I be nervous, I belong here.”

Murphy is engaged to another WWE Superstar Alexa Bliss. The two worked together in NXT with Bliss acting as a manager for Murphy who was then tagging with Wesley Blake.
Though Bliss didn’t have a match at Super Show-Down and didn’t get to travel to Australia, she did type out a Tweet shortly after his win that many are taking as words of congratulations.
Well Would ya look at that ??
