Was There A Reason Why Kofi Kingston Came Up Short On SmackDown Live?
Many members of the WWE Universe believed that Kofi Kingston would overcome the odds last night on SmackDown Live and become the number one contender for the WWE Championship, but this wasn’t the case.
Kingston was able to defeat five men in the gauntlet match that was advertised heading into the show, but Vince McMahon then came out to screw over Kingston once again by forcing him to face the current Champion.
Kingston was unable to defeat Daniel Bryan which means that he isn’t challenging for the title at WrestleMania just yet, but one of the biggest talking points of the whole match was a comment that Byron Saxton made about Kofi Kingston, which was addressed on Social Media by Forbes writer, Alfred Konuwa.
Two More Championship Matches Announced For WrestleMania 35
April 7th is now just 18 days away, which is why matches are being announced on almost every show that WWE presents. SmackDown Live was no different since the United States Championship match between Samoa Joe and Rey Mysterio was finally made official.
205 Live then took center stage and it was revealed that Buddy Murphy would be defending his Cruiserweight Championship match against Tony Nese on the Grandest Stage Of Them All.
The Cruiserweight Championship doesn’t have a great history at WrestleMania since it’s been pushed onto the kickoff show for the past few years, so hopefully this year Murphy will have done enough to push the title onto the main show and gain the royalties that he so richly deserves.
There are currently 9 matches official for WrestleMania next month, which include Seth Rollins vs Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship, Ronda Rousey vs Becky Lynch v Charlotte for the Raw Women’s Championship, Triple H vs Batista in a No Holds Barred Match and Kurt Angle vs Baron Corbin in Angle’s retirement match.
Shane McMahon takes on The Miz, AJ Styles steps up to Randy Orton and The Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal will make its return.
