Cain Velasquez will challenge Brock Lesnar for the WWE Championship in less than seven days at WWE’s overseas pay-per-view Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia.
Velasquez is a man on a mission – he plans to avenge the brutal beatdown of Rey Mysterio and Dominick at the hands of Lesnar by dethroning The Beast in the process.
During a recent interview with WrestlingNews, Velasquez revealed details about his WWE contract. The 2-time UFC Heavyweight Champion has signed a three-year deal with WWE, meaning 3 years of non-stop nightmares for Lesnar (and the rest of the locker room).
“It’s personal. Him going in and hurting Rey and going in and start hurting his son Dominik, forget that. It’s personal, I’m going in there to beat his ass.”
Cain defeated Brock for the UFC Heavyweight Championship in 2010. The WWE Universe believes the result to be the same this time too; only the championship and location will be different.
“Yeah, I’ll be here for the next three years, for sure. As I get better and better, I’m gonna keep doing this. I love it. I’m gonna keep doing it.”
Cain will be making his WWE in-ring debut in The Kingdom alongside undefeated heavyweight boxing champion of the world Tyson Fury. The Gypsy King will collide with Braun Strowman in singles action.
Velasquez also talked about his UFC peer Conor McGregor’s potential jump to WWE in the future. The Notorious was heavily rumored to be making a surprise appearance at WrestleMania 35.
“Conor McGregor, he’s an amazing athlete. He’s amazing at what he does for the sport, even when he’s not fighting [with] his promos and everything.”
Cain is to reportedly stick with Mysterio on RAW through September. Per rumors, he will be a member of SmackDown post-Crown Jewel.
