NXT TV on May 23, 2018 featured a spectacular closing segment between arch rivals Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa to set up their match at the upcoming NXT TakeOver: Chicago.

Gargano was initially going to announce his retirement from pro-wrestling but, against the wishes of his wife Candice LeRae, he shockingly ripped off his neck brace and declared that he was not finished with Ciampa yet.

Ciampa came out to answer Gargano’s call and knocked Gargano into LeRae at ringside as the show came to a close. This has led to speculations that rather Gargano and Ciampa are going to split up in the storylines or LeRae could turn on Gargano and join forces with Ciampa at NXT TakeOver: Chicago.

WWE recently posted a video featuring Gargano picking up the paperwork for the upcoming Street Fight with Ciampa at NXT TakeOver: Chicago. LeRae, who was not happy with her husband’s decision, barged out of the office saying, “I’m done with this. I’m done.”

NXT TakeOver: Chicago will take place at the Allstate Arena on June 16, 2018.

Noteworthy mention: The original stipulation of the match was not supposed to be a Street Fight. However, a main roster booking for WWE Money In The Bank led to a change in the stipulation of this match.
