Post-WrestleMania 34 edition of SmackDown Live on April 10, 2018 witnessed Ms. Money In The Bank, Carmella successfully cash in her Money In The Bank briefcase on Charlotte to become the new SmackDown Women’s Champion.

Charlotte was cutting an in-ring promo (with the SmackDown Women’s Championship around her waist) recapitulating her win over Asuka at WrestleMania 34, breaking The Empress of Tomorrow’s longest undefeated streak of 914 days and pondering who her net challenger might be. NXT call-ups, The Iconic Duo (Peyton Royce and Billie Kay) interrupted Charlotte, making their main-roster debut and double teamed the Queen for several minutes and finally laid waste to her.

With Charlotte laying flat in the ring, Carmella emerged from the back with her Money In The Bank briefcase and forcing referee Mike Chioda to cash in her contract. Although Chioda kept delaying the start of the match, they finally called for the bell with Carmella kicking Charlotte in the head and pinning her for the three-count to win her first WWE Women’s Title.

Carmella made her main roster debut in July 2016 and now stands as the new SmackDown Women’s Champion courtesy of successful cash in and “appearing at the right place at the right time”.
