Carmella Having Fun With R-Truth, Wants Another Title Run

Former SmackDown Women’s Champion Carmella is having fun helping her friend R-Truth with his 24/7 title run but would want a championship of her own again.

“I love the unpredictability of it and it’s so much fun and so silly,” Carmella told the Memphis Commercial Appeal, speaking about the 24/7 title and Truth.

“I feel like can show a different side of my character and Truth is just incredible,” she added. “Truth is such a close friend of mine and friends always have each other’s backs, so whatever we got to do, whatever it takes,” she added.

While she’s enjoying her current storyline, Carmella is also looking towards the future which she hopes will include having a title of her own again.

According to Carmella, she would love another shot at holding the SmackDown Women’s Championship again, but this time she would do things a little differently.

“I feel like I had a good championship run, but I feel like I could be able to do it again in a different way,” said Carmella.

“I was always cheating, and I was playing the bad guy before,” she added.

If Carmella has her way, she would win and retain her title with less underhanded tricks the second time around. During her first title run and the run up to it, Carmella was playing a heel. She won the title by winning the first woman’s Money in the Bank Ladder match working with James Ellsworth.

Carmella also commented on the state of women’s wrestling in WWE, according to her it’s “no longer a big deal” for women to close a show or a pay-per-view and that’s a good thing.

“It’s just become normal and that to me means more than anything, more than having these first-ever matches is the fact that it’s just equal now,” says Carmella.
