Carmella is a former SmackDown Women’s Champion, but she was referred to as a “Diva living in a Women’s Revolution” by Charlotte a few weeks ago on SmackDown Live.
Carmella has quite the reputation on the main roster and given the fact that the Women’s Revolution is now in full swing, she has definitely been given more opportunities than the women who were part of the company before her.
The second generation star was able to open up about what it’s like to work for WWE today as part of her recent interview with KLFY News.
“What a time to be a woman in the WWE,” said Carmella. “We’re in the midst of this women’s evolution and we actually have our first ever all-women’s pay-per-view October 28th, which is huge! It’s called WWE Evolution. It’s going to be amazing. The first ever all-women’s pay-per-view.
“The women, we’re just taking over. [We’ve had] the first ever Hell in a Cell match. The first ever Money in the Bank ladder match, which I was the first ever Ms. Money in the Bank. So, it’s just really cool to see the women just taking over.”
The women are definitely taking over and will continue to do so over the next few months, Carmella is currently embroiled in a feud with Andrade “Cien” Almas and Zelina Vega but is yet to have her own match announced for Evolution.
The Princess of Staten Island is also missing from the card for this weekend’s Hell in a Cell pay-per-view, which is the first pay-per-view since she dropped her SmackDown Women’s Championship to Charlotte back at SummerSlam, but she also failed to recapture the title in her rematch a few weeks ago.
