Carmella Reveals Her Dream Opponent For WWE Evolution

Carmella is a former SmackDown Women’s Champion but heading into Hell In A Cell, she doesn’t seem to have a rivalry that would allow her to have a match. The Princess of Staten Island lost her Women’s Championship to Charlotte back at SummerSlam and later failed to regain it when she cashed in her rematch clause on SmackDown.

Charlotte has now moved into a feud with Becky Lynch which has written Carmella out of the title picture so it’s no wonder that the former NXT  star is dreaming big when it comes to Evolution.

Carmella grew up watching the likes of Trish Stratus and Lita dominate the WWE Women’s Division and when it comes to this year’s Evolution, she would love to face the former seven-time Women’s Champion.

“Unfortunately, Alexa Bliss is wrestling my dream opponent — Trish Stratus,” she said via PWMania. “Trish Stratus would be amazing, but honestly, I am just so happy to be part of this monumental event. I am having the time of my life and it’s a perfect time to be a woman in the WWE. We are making history left and right.”

Of course, Alexa Bliss vs Trish Stratus has already been announced for the show on October 28th which means that Carmella won’t be given her dream match, but there are a number of other options for her when it comes to returning WWE legends.

As part of the same interview with The Examiner, Carmella was also able to speak up about WWE finally getting rid of the term “Diva” something that she was called by Charlotte a few weeks ago.

“I’m not sure why the term diva is considered negative. They were only allowed a few minutes for matches on television and didn’t have the TV time like the men did but they made the most of it and it wasn’t their fault.”

“They paved the way for us to be where we are at now. So I don’t think it’s a bad thing to be called a diva. I love doing all the hair and makeup and I’m proud of the way I dress. I talk the talk and walk the walk.”
