WWE superstar Charlotte Flair was recently asked during an interview with talkSPORT about the criticism she faces from some fans who think her multiple championship reigns have been too much come too soon.
Flair, who debuted on the main roster in 2015, has held the Divas Championship, had the RAW Women’s Championship four times, and the SmackDown Women’s Championship five times. This makes her a 10-time women’s champion in the main roster.
She told talkSport’s Alex McCarthy that fans who complain about her and how WWE has given her that many opportunities are not looking at “the big picture”.
“My title wins in the last year have been bigger picture moments. Unfortunately, people don’t see that,” she said.
She did add that she does see her multiple title reigns as something that is kind of essential in her character, specifically in building up her heel persona.
“When I get to play the villain, it’s tremendous to say so, I am a 10-time champion,” said Flair.
“It just depends on what role I’m playing. I don’t think fans…looking at a storyline prescriptive or the deeper meaning to how things happen. Whether I get to use it as a bad guy or not, it just all depends,” she added.
Currently, Flair is once again title-less after fifth SmackDown Women’s Championship reign ended with a defeat from the current champion Bayley.
Flair has since been drafted from RAW to SmackDown. There is yet no word as to what the future plans for Flair will be. She has yet to have an advertised match for Survivor Series.
On RAW, after Flair was drafted, she featured in an altercation with former rival and current WWE RAW Women’s Champion Becky Lynch.
