Charlotte Flair and Andrade made their relationship public this past year but neither of them had confirmed their marital status despite being vocal about their bond on social media. The Queen was spotted with a ring on her left ring finger in April 2019 which had further stirred up the confusion.
On New Year’s Eve, Andrade set the record straight as he took to Twitter to officially announce their engagement.
Both Flair and Andrade have had an impressive 2019; The Queen scored 3 different title reigns and cemented herself as the 10-time Women’s Champion while El Idolo closed out the year with his maiden United States Title victory over Rey Mysterio.
2-time WWE Hall Of Famer and 16-time World Champion Ric Flair is fond of Andrade and has praised him highly in the past. Now, the Mexican Superstar can proudly call himself the son-in-law of The Wrestling God.
During a recent interview with BT Sports, Charlotte addressed comparisons between her and The Nature Boy.
“[Like him] I wear a robe but my dad couldn’t hold a candle to my athleticism and I would say that to his face. But naturally, I carry his mannerisms without even thinking about it. I’ve only been wrestling for seven years and it just comes naturally but what I took from my dad is his professionalism, him being true to who he really is. What I mean by professionalism is his quote ‘you dress for the job you want, not the one you have’. He’s always in a suit, his costumes always went above and beyond, his showmanship and charisma – he’s a star. That’s what I really took from my dad.”
The Queen has officially announced herself as the first entrant for the 2020 Women’s Royal Rumble match next month. Meanwhile, Andrade is set for a title defense against Mr. 619 next Monday on RAW.
