Charlotte Flair is teaming with Becky Lynch to take on the current WWE Women’s Tag Team champions the Kabuki Warriors at the TLC pay-per-view.
If Flair and Lynch are victorious, this won’t be just another championship for Flair – and her first tag team championship – but also her ticket to becoming a Grand Slam Champion.
Flair has held the RAW Women’s Championship four times, the SmackDown Women’s Championship five times, and has been the NXT women’s champion. If she wins the tag team titles, she will become a female Grand Slam Champion.
Currently, the only female Grand Slam Champion in WWE is the current SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley.
Flair talked to Corey Graves on his After The Bell Podcast about TLC and the possibility of holding her first tag team championship and becoming only the second female Grand Slam Champion in WWE history.
According to Flair, she’s mostly just focused on “stealing the show” during TLC but would love to earn a few more accolades.
“There’s such an interesting dynamic to this knowing the magic that I have had with Asuka and Becky and now adding Kairi Sane to the mix. I am just going into the pay per view wanting to steal the show,” said Flair.
“These are the times that I just want to excel and make some kind of history. Winning the tag-titles I would be the second [women’s] grand-slam winner in WWE history. It’s just another opportunity I guess to see where it can go,” she told Graves.
Flair and Lynch teaming together came as a result of both women singularly running afoul of the Kabuki Warriors. Since essentially turning heel, Asuka and Sane have been dominating through the use of dirty tactics. Asuka has utilized the Green Mist to blind both Flair and Lynch and both the Kabuki Warriors have ambushed their opponents backstage.
