<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Chelsea Green will remain Interim WWE Women’s Champion for now despite suffering a broken orbital bone.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">On the Aug. 14 episode of SmackDown, General Manager Nick Aldis initially asked Green to relinquish the championship after medical staff informed him she could not compete. Green protested, arguing that she had sacrificed too much to surrender the title without a fight. Aldis ultimately gave her 30 days to receive medical clearance and defend the championship.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The segment later escalated when Gunther confronted Green, prompting her husband Matt Cardona to intervene. Gunther then defeated Cardona in an impromptu match.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Afterward, Nia Jax and Lash Legend confronted Green, with Jax signaling her interest in a future title opportunity. Tiffany Stratton arrived before the situation could turn into a two-on-one attack, but got beaten up by the Irresistible Forces.</p>
