Chris Jericho Commemorates 30th Anniversary of His First Match

Chris Jericho marked a special anniversary this weekend by posting a “throwback” photo of himself before his first wrestling match.

“30 years ago today I had my first match against Lance Storm in Ponoka, Alberta! Amazing to think it’s been that long ago, but what an incredible journey I’ve had”

Jericho then went on to plug an episode of his Talk Is Jericho podcast with Storm as his special guest. The two will discuss their earlier days training and wrestling together, including that first match.

He also plugged his upcoming book “The Complete List of Jericho” which will feature “top ten lists”, photos and new info about his life and career.

Jericho has spent 30 years in the business, working for ECW, WCW, and making his name in WWE before moving to AEW where he became the brand’s inaugural World Champion.

AEW has announced that this Wednesday’s episode of Dynamite will be a special edition “30th Anniversary Celebration” of Jericho and his career.

Aside from having a celebration, Jericho will also be in action in a tag team match with Jake Hager against Chaos project.

Also announced for the episode are two championship matches, for the FTW Championship and the Tag Team Championships. The FTW Championship match will see current champion Brian Cage facing one of AEW’s newest signings, Will Hobbs.

Meanwhile, current tag team champions FTR will be continuing the “Brush with Greatness” 20-minute challenge facing TH2 (Jack Evans and Angelico).

The episode will also see a “Dog Collar Match” between a returning Cody and the man who took his TNT championship, Brodie Lee.
