Chris Jericho has done it all in his long-illustrated pro wrestling career. The Lionheart has been actively performing in the ring for the past three decades and isn’t willing to slow down anytime soon.
Jericho‘s multi-year AEW deal fetches him NFL-esque money at the expense of a light schedule. The veteran wrestler is in charge of his own narrative as he continues to build young stars for the coming days.
On the latest edition of his weekly live series “Saturday Night Live”, Jericho was asked whether he would be interested in returning to WWE for a one-off appearance.
Le Champion made it clear that firstly he wouldn’t do any one-night-only for any promotion, especially WWE, and secondly, he hopes to stick with The Khans for the foreseeable future.
“A. I can’t, I’m still under contract for the next little while,” Jericho said. “B. I don’t think I would be into doing a one-out, a one-off for anybody, especially WWE. I hope to be with AEW for a long, long, long time. So I hope that answers our question.” H/t: WrestlingInc
Jericho has been the face of AEW ever since the promotion came into existence in January 2019. Not only did he become the inaugural AEW World Champion, but his title reign also marked the beginning of a major push for a number of fresh talents.
It is to be noted that Vince McMahon wanted Jericho back soon after the latter had signed with AEW. The CEO of WWE couldn’t afford to see the 49-year-old icon leaving for a rival promotion and desperately wanted him back in his company.
At present, Jericho is still in good shape as he continues to reinvent himself with fresh feuds and angles.
For those wondering, the proud leader of The Inner Circle will never get inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame for as long as he is under contract with The Khan Family.
