While AEW may have won the first round of the “Wednesday Night Wars”, with the premiere of AEW Dynamite beating WWE NXT in the ratings, current AEW Champion Chris Jericho doesn’t believe the fight is over.



According to Jericho, while he isn’t annoyed at the WWE decision to pit NXT against AEW Dynamite, he isn’t surprised. He also stated that he believes that this isn’t the end of WWE’s efforts to compete against AEW.

<blockquote class="wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow">&#8220;It&#8217;s Vince McMahon, it&#8217;s the WWE. I told them from the start. It&#8217;s not even begun yet,” he said in an interview on the MMA Show.</blockquote>



<blockquote class="wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow">“There’s going to be so many other tricks and traps coming up. It’s what he does,” said Jericho about his former employer. “He thrives on the competition. I don’t care. I’m not in competition with him or NXT.”</blockquote>

Jericho also talked about his own feelings about the premiere of AEW Dynamite, stating that he gave them an A+ rating.

You could have a great show or a great performance, but if the crowd isn&#8217;t over-the-top hot, it hurts it. If you have a great crowd and a subpar performance, it doesn&#8217;t matter. Because to me, all that matters is how the crowd is reacting to it. The reaction, the performances, everything I saw, was amazing,&#8221; he said.</blockquote>



The pro wrestling veteran was also full of praise for the
relatively new roster of AEW, many who had never really worked on live TV
before.

For the most part, all across the board, everybody did that. I was pretty proud of our roster. Everyone did a great job,&#8221; he added.</blockquote>
