CM Punk was recently victorious in the lawsuit that was made against him by WWE doctor Chris Amann, after the doctor claimed that Punk made defamatory claims about him on his friend Colt Cabana’s podcast back in December 2014.
The judge ruled in favor of Punk, but this left him and Cabana with court fees to pay which were in the range of almost $600,000.
Cabana claimed that Punk stated that he would handle all of the fees for him but now he’s decided that they should split it between them and told his longtime friend that he’s on his own when it comes to paying almost $300,000.
The Chicago Sun-Times reported that Punk allegedly texted Cabana and told him that he would pay the legal fees so that they could fight the defamation suit together.
When the legal fees then mounted up to more than half a million dollars, it appears that Punk decided to change his mind and told Cabana that he was responsible for his half.
Cabana has an email where Punk actually stated that “whatever my bill is currently will be cut in half and half will be yours. If you choose to make this ugly, that’s fine too. I hope you won’t but I gave up on you doing what is right a long time ago.”
The legal fees totaled up to $513,736 and Cabana is responsible for his half of these fees now which is why he’s suing his former best friend with a lawsuit alleging fraud and breach of contract while asking for $200,000 for damages as well as another $1 million on top of that.
Punk is yet to respond to this new lawsuit after he only recently left the courtroom following his lawsuit from Amann.
