CM Punk Is Odds On Favorite For 2020 Royal Rumble Match

CM Punk made his return to WWE screens last week as part of WWE Backstage and it was perhaps one of the biggest returns in the history of the business. It is worth noting that Punk signed a contract with FOX and not WWE, which means that he works on WWE Backstage and can be as critical about WWE and their product as he likes without any backlash.

Many fans believe that this return is a small step towards his eventual return to active competition, which could happen as soon as this weekend at Survivor Series, which is coincidentally in his hometown.

Punk himself has talked down all rumors of his return and is making good money talking about the business on WWE Backstage each week alongside Booker T and Renee Young. That being said, it appears that many fans are still convinced that Punk will return to the ring, so much so that according to SkyBet he is now the odds on favorite to win the 2020 Royal Rumble.

Punk is the 9/2 favorite for one of WWE’s biggest matches of the year, closely followed by Roman Reigns who is also 9/2, Bray Wyatt who’s 6/1 and Finn Balor who is 9/1.

It would be perfect if Punk was to make his return as part of The Rumble match in January and was then able to finally head to WrestleMania and achieve his childhood goal. January makes six years since Punk last stepped into a WWE ring and even though it’s quite far fetched at present, it would be a perfect way for him to not only return, but be part of his own curtain call with the company.

It is also worth noting that at present Ronda Rousey is the odds on favorite to win the Women’s Royal Rumble in just over two months time, even though she recently teased a retirement.
