CM Punk made headlines when he returned to WWE programming, joining the team of WWE Backstage as an analyst nearly a month ago. Punk has appeared on Backstage twice since his return and will make his next appearance tomorrow night on FS1.

Punk was conspicuous by his absence on the last two episodes of WWE Backstage, which featured Triple H, who reportedly has heat with Punk, and Seth Rollins, who’s been involved in a mini-feud with Punk of late.

Punk sent out a tweet today, saying that he needed to watch AJ Styles vs. Finn Balor from TLC 2017 for a segment on this week’s Backstage episode. CM Punk asked for people’s opinions on the match before getting started on his Twitter, and later gave his analysis on the encounter.

Punk said that he didn’t understand why every superstar is involved with the ‘Too Sweet’ gesture and how they are cosplaying superstars from the past. The ‘too sweet’ gesture was originally related to the Clique in WWE, and later on found a home with the Bullet Club, which had AJ Styles and Finn Balor as their leaders in the past.

Punk also was confused as to why every superstar takes a backstage picture with WWE COO Triple H, and directly mentioned the 14-time Champion in his tweet.

Punk went to comment on the match by saying he felt he was in a completely different world. Punk has stayed away from the industry for nearly six years now, and said the current wrestling landscape frightened him.

It will be interesting to see what segment of WWE Backstage features the match from Styles and Balor, which was a last-minute addition to the card and received rave reviews.
