Cody Rhodes took to Twitter to announce a brand new show of All Elite Wrestling, AEW Dark, which will debut next week on AEW’s YouTube channel. The brand new show will be a collection of non-televised matches in the company and will be hosted by AEW commentator Tony Schiavone.
Similar to WWE, AEW had a string of dark matches that took place for those in attendance in Washington DC. AEW taped a total of four matches this week, and those matches will air on their YouTube channel next Tuesday.
It was earlier reported that AEW was getting a recap show on Sundays on TBS, but this is completely different show altogether. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported that AEW will have a show on Sundays from 10.30 to 11.30, which will be an edited version of the TNT broadcast from that week.
AEW Dynamite debuted on TNT two days ago, and it received tremendous response from the wrestling community. The show mauled its competitor, WWE NXT, in ratings and had quite a strong start to its life on national television.
The AEW Dark series will be exclusively on YouTube and will debut on October 8. The first episode of the show will feature the following matches:
- Darby Allin vs CIMA (taped before the show)
- Lucha Brothers, Jake Evans and Angelico vs Private Party and Best Friends
- Bea Priestley and Penelope Ford vs Britt Baker and Allie
- SCU vs Jungle Express and Marko Stunt
This is aimed at targetting the audiences who don’t have access to cable and will be able to check out quality matches for free. With the expert voice of Schiavone at hand, the fans will be in for a treat during the show.
The next episode of AEW Dynamite takes place from Boston and will feature the start of the AEW Tag Team Tournament to determine the first-ever Tag Champs in the company.
