Cody Rhodes Hints at Limiting Creative Freedom of AEW Wrestlers

Cody Rhodes recently appeared on Chris Jericho’s Talk is Jericho podcast.

He graded All Elite Wrestling to ‘A’, before talking about the areas where the company still needs to make some improvement.

Rhodes started by saying that AEW wrestlers have a lot of creative freedom – one of the things that wrestlers and fans like about AEW – but sometimes, according to Rhodes, it leads to many similar things happening on the show.

“We have such freedom. So such freedom, sometimes, means that things are too similar on the same show. Well, this guy’s asking me to join Team FTW. Well, this group, they’re asking if he’ll join in this. So that’s one of those areas where that freedom is fun and pro, they’re not worried about the traditional rules. It’s punk rock, but also, you have to be disciplined so that it doesn’t desensitize the show.”

While creative freedom is one of the things wrestlers look for when signing with a promotion, especially if it’s a household name, it’s understandable why Cody wants to focus more on this aspect.
