Heading into Crown Jewel, it was made obvious that Roman Reigns was going to retain his Championship and go on a lengthy reign with the Championship that could have led all the way to WrestleMania 35 but this wasn’t the case.

According to The Wrestling Observer, WWE’s original plan was for Brock Lesnar to finish up with the company at Crown Jewel since it was his last contracted match and it would see Reigns’ feud with The Beast finally come to an end.

The fact that Lesnar was the one who won the Championship in a short encounter with Braun Strowman proves that this is no longer the case. Instead, Lesnar will now work at least two more shows for WWE in the coming months, since he has already been announced for Survivor Series in two weeks time.

It has already been noted that WWE was forced to change a number of Survivor Series plans following Reigns’ departure from the company two weeks ago, the biggest of these plans being the fact that Lesnar is now in a match against AJ Styles instead of Roman Reigns.

Reigns truly was the face of WWE and it appears that the company has already decided who will be “the man” in his absence since Lesnar is now the one walking around with the Championship that Reigns never lost.

There are a number of other plans that have been changed over the past few weeks as well, including WrestleMania since the original rumor was that Reigns would take on The Rock in the main event, but obviously The Big Dog won’t play a role in the show so if The Rock is still able to be part of WrestleMania 35 then WWE needs to come up with another opponent for him.
