Daniel Cormier is a self-proclaimed WWE fan, and a deal with WWE has always been rumored for the former two-division champion.
Cormier retired from UFC after his loss to Stipe Miocic and has confirmed that he is in early talks with WWE.
Cormier recently spoke with Sports Illustrated and expressed his intentions for a switch over to professional wrestling.
“We’ve been talking. We’ve spoken to some of the people over there in very, very early conversations. WWE is a company I’ve watched and loved my entire life.
“Put me at the commentary table. Let me call the matches for six months and tell you how great these wrestlers are in the ring. I would love that, and I wouldn’t be faking it. WWE is something I’ve loved my entire life.”
Cormier is quite eager to get a seat at the commentary table for the promotion, and his passion for the sport will surely add to the content that he will bring to the table.
Cormier has done a solid job on the booth for UFC in the past and has promised to replicate the same in WWE.
Several former UFC stars like Brock Lesnar, Cain Velasquez, Ronda Rousey, Matt Riddle, etc., have made the switch to WWE in the past.
Although Cormier doesn’t want to compete in the ring anymore, a tempting offer will surely get him inside the Squared Circle.
