Daniel Cormier’s Retirement Causes Major Changes in UFC Rankings

The official UFC rankings have been updated after last weekend’s UFC Vegas 9 card, and despite the lack of big names on the bill, there have been some interesting changes.

UFC released their latest rankings and there are some evident changes in the Pound for Pound rankings and the Heavyweight rankings.

Alistair Overeem fought Augusto Sakai and reigned supreme to go on a two-fight win streak, which propelled him to the No.5 spot in the stacked heavyweight division.

Daniel Cormier recently announced his retirement from UFC, following his loss to Stipe Miocic at UFC 252, which had major implications in the Pound for Pound rankings.

Cormier’s exit from the rankings allowed several other fighters to gain rankings, with Francis Ngannou making his first-ever appearance on the list.
