You don’t mistake WWE’s toughest S.O.B. for another tough S.O.B. Neither do you mistake a WWE Hall of Famer for another Hall of Famer. Not now, not ever.
Alas, that’s what Denny’s restaurant did when WWE Hall of Famer Stone Cold Steve Austin walked in for breakfast. The guys at the restaurant mistook the Texas Rattlesnake for the WCW-WWE legend and former WWE Universal Champion Bill Goldberg.
Austin 3:16 took to Twitter to share the hilarious incident and also jokingly noted that he had “never been so insulted”:

Austin and Goldberg were both celebrated stars during The Attitude Era. The Monday Night Wars would seem empty without these two men on board. Goldberg was the face of WCW in the late ’90s (peak of Monday Night Wars) while Austin was WWF/E’s top guy at that time.
WWF/E purchased WCW in 2001, which led to fans speculating a possible blockbuster dream match between Goldberg and Austin.
Goldberg didn’t sign with WWE until 2003 and left Vince McMahon’s promotion in 2004. The WCW legend returned to WWE in 2016 and feuded with Brock Lesnar and even enjoyed a short Universal Championship reign.
At WrestleMania 33, Goldberg dropped the title to Lesnar and was subsequently inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2018.
