WWE announced the first ever Women’s TLC match last night on SmackDown Live which will see Becky Lynch defend her Raw Women’s Championship against both Charlotte and Asuka at the pay-per-view of the same name on December 16th.
The fact that Asuka and Charlotte have both been included in this match could be a huge giveaway when it comes to the finalists of the Mixed Match Challenge. It’s hard to see WWE allowing the two women to pull double duty when they have a grueling Tables, Ladder and Chairs match, so it means that either Naomi and Jimmy Uso or R-Truth and Carmella will be heading to the final of the tournament.
Over on the Raw side, Finn Balor and Bayley are the favorites to win the competition since there have been a number of dropouts throughout this season including Alexa Bliss, Sasha Banks, Braun Strowman, AJ Styles and Kevin Owens.
The winners of the tournament will be awarded the 30 spot in both the male and female Royal Rumble next year which is why it was thought to have been much more competitive this time around.
Miz and Asuka won the first tournament earlier this year heading into WrestleMania when Asuka was still undefeated, but it doesn’t appear as though there will be back to back winners now, since Balor and Bayley could easily get past either R-Truth and Carmella or Jimmy Uso and Naomi, which would give both stars the advantage that they need in the Royal Rumble.
The Mixed Match Challenge will continue for the next few weeks and the final will then take place on Sunday, December 16th as part of TLC.
