Drew McIntyre accepted Goldberg’s Royal Rumble challenge on this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw, which means that the WWE Hall of Famer will now fight for the WWE Championship at Royal Rumble.
This fact hasn’t gone down very well with the WWE Universe and several wrestlers backstage. It was already well known that Dolph Ziggler and Goldberg were not on the best of terms following their collision at SummerSlam back in 2019.
The Showoff recently made it clear that things between them hadn’t improved, since Ziggler responded to a fan on Twitter who stated that Ziggler would be 2035’s version of Goldberg and would be beating stars with Zig Zags and superkicks.
Ziggler responded that he was actually good at wrestling, which is a direct jab at Goldberg who has recently been part of very short matches with WWE.
Ziggler is a former World Champion and could be part of the upcoming Royal Rumble match. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Ziggler has been performing on a weekly basis for WWE while Goldberg just arrived and was handed a title shot at the upcoming pay-per-view.
It’s easy to understand why Ziggler would be angry about recent events, but this could lead to another match between the two men in the future if Goldberg sees this latest update.
