Drew McIntyre Reveals He Was Set to Wrestle The Undertaker at WrestleMania 26

Drew McIntyre is the current WWE Champion and recently came out on top following a grueling TLC match at the pay-per-view of the same name.

McIntyre was also the most recent guest on Stone Cold’s Broken Skull Sessions, where he was able to open up about several personal matters that have never been revealed publicly.

As part of his chat with the WWE legend, McIntyre revealed that The Undertaker was his mentor in his early days in WWE and this could have led to a match with The Deadman at WrestleMania.

“That’s what I heard (about facing The Undertaker), after the fact. I wasn’t told directly. It was supposed to build to a match with ‘Taker, I was always told.”

“But I heard, you know basically from Shawn, afterwards, I got to spend some time with Shawn, work with Shawn but that was the plan, and then obviously Mania had the great Shawn and Taker match, the retirement match. But if I had that match at the time, it wouldn’t have been what it could have been, should have been.”

McIntyre was instead put into the Money in the Bank ladder match where he revealed that he was initially set to become Mr. Money in the Bank, but the plan was changed at the last minute because WWE believed it was too predictable.

Instead, it was Jack Swagger who became Mr Money in the Bank back in 2010.
