This week on NXT, William Regal announced the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic would be returning and that it would take place over the next three weeks. The winner getting a tag team title shot at NXT Take Over New Orleans.
We have been speculating who the participants would be and now WWE.com has released the following participants of the tournament.
The Authors Of Pain: These guys won the last Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic and have had a very impressive 2017 and early 2018.
Street Prophets: Despite not appearing on NXT TV for a couple of weeks, it does appear that the WWE has high hopes for these guys. They do get a solid reaction each week, but we have a feeling these guys will not get past the first round.
Heavy Machinery: Heavy Machinery is really getting over with the fans. A vignette and a match against Sabbatelli and Moss seemed to really get them over. These guys could be the dark horse of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic.
TM61: While injuries derailed TM61, NXT had been hyping up their return and they have featured a few times in 2018. These guys are really fun to watch and they are another team that could do really well.
Other participants include Riddick Moss & Tino Sabbatelli, SAnitY, Oney Lorcan & Danny Burch, Tyler Bate & Trent Seven, aka Moustache Mountain.
