Eddie Kingston has signed with All Elite Wrestling. Kingston’s signing was officially announced by AEW on their official Twitter.
The company welcomed Kingston to the team. “Eddie Kingston is All Elite,” reads the caption.
Kingston commented on the signing, confirming it on his own Twitter account. According to Kingston, “The Stray Dog is off the chain.”
Kingston’s signing comes on the heels of his well received AEW debut during the July 22 episode of AEW Dynamite. Kingston responded to current TNT Champion Cody’s open challenge.
The match between Kingston and Cody opened the show and had a No DQ stipulation. While Cody was able to put Kingston in the figure four leg lock to retain his championship, the match and Kingston’s performance was enthusiastically received and praised.
#SignEddieKingston began to circulate soon after the Dynamite Match with Cody and it seems that AEW executives were listening.
Kingston has been wrestling since 2002, mostly in indie promotions like PWG, Chikara, Combat Zone Wrestling, ROH, Evolve, and AAW Wrestling.
He also had a stint at TNA/Impact Wrestling from 2016 to 2017, returning in 2018. Before signing with AEW, he was mostly wrestling for the National Wrestling Alliance.
