WWE Hall of Famer Edge is set to face Randy Orton in a match at Backlash that is being billed as “The Greatest Wrestling Match Ever.”
Edge had previously said he has mixed feelings about the billing as he’s not quite sure that it’s right to bill a match that hasn’t even happened yet the “greatest”.
However, in a recent social media post, he revealed that he’s actually coming around to the tag and seeing it as a challenge.
“This was a very pressure filled month. Pressure I put on myself. To perform. To prove to myself I could still perform at the level I want to expect. To give our fan base something to enjoy and talk about”, he admitted in his post.
“Being billed beforehand The Greatest Wrestling Match Ever. During a pandemic. With limited audience. Kinda crazy. Kinda fun. MASSIVE CHALLENGE,” he added.
He also added, however, that he “lived for challenges” and he would rather be the one “put to the task” than leave it to another superstar.
“GREATEST MATCH EVER”? All subjective. Can’t worry about it. But I’ll walk away proud knowing it all got left in the ring to tell the story. And hopefully, give all of your minds a little break from what’s going on in the world,” he ended his post.
