Elimination Chamber: Keith Lee Pulled From Fatal Four Way, John Morrison Wins

Earlier in the week, it was reported that Keith Lee was struggling with an injury and could be pulled from his match for the United States Championship at Elimination Chamber.

WWE has seemingly been monitoring Lee for the past week but it was revealed earlier today that the former North American Champion had been pulled from his match against Bobby Lashley and Riddle.

The news was broken just a few hours before the show, on WWE’s official Twitter page which stated that Ricochet, Mustafa Ali, Elias, and John Morrison would face off in a fatal four-way match to decide who would replace Lee.

Fightful went on to extend on this to claim that at present the plan is for John Morrison to be the man to step into the triple threat match between Lashley and Riddle.

The Fatal Four Way was a strange match that saw three heels up against one face, but all four men were looking for a shot at the United States Championship.

The ringside presence of Retribution proved to be a factor, as Slapjack broke up a pin from Elias. Ricochet rallied with a flurry of offense and nearly pinned Ali after a 450 Splash, but Retribution broke up the pin. Mace and T-Bar then slammed Ricochet into the ring post. Morrison immediately pinned a distracted Ali to win the match.

Fightful claimed that it’s integral that the US title match is a triple threat match, which means that Morrison could be the one to take the pin with Lashley and Riddle seemingly continuing to be protected.

The last time the two former MMA stars collided one-on-one, Riddle was able to come out on top but it was only via DQ when he refused to stop the attack on his opponent.
