Enzo Amore Reveals New Details on Backstage Altercation Between Brock Lesnar and Vince McMahon

Brock Lesnar defeated Randy Orton back at SummerSlam in 2016 by TKO after the former WWE Champion elbowed Orton in the head a number of times until Orton was left knocked out in a pool of blood. It was a shocking end to the pay-per-view and not just for the fans.

Chris Jericho was close friends with Randy Orton at the time and after asking a number of officials in Gorilla as to whether or not that was supposed to happen, he wasn’t given a definitive answer and decided to confront Lesnar himself.

Of course, the story of what happened between Lesnar and Jericho has become a well-known tale, but former WWE star Enzo Amore recently appeared on Busted Open Radio where he was able to share more about the whole situation.

“There was a real fight that took place that day in the middle of the Garden. Why? Because when you think of Randy and Chris Jericho in SummerSlam [2016], Randy bleeding out.”

“They guys in the locker room are not smart into the business. Jericho leaves that locker room furious. Gets into Gorilla and flips out and causes a fight between Brock and Vince. Because he in his mind is protecting Randy and the business and he is thinking that Brock is taking liberties on a guy.”

“[No one] in the entire arena whether backstage, in the locker room, in Gorilla, in the fu–ing arena, didn’t know what the f–k just happened. Very confusing, because it was real.”

Lesnar and McMahon have had a number of backstage issues over the years, but are now reportedly on the same page and the former WWE Champion was expected to return at SummerSlam, but the lack of audience has meant that the company has pushed his return back a few months.
