Eric Bischoff Replaced By Bruce Prichard As Executive Director Of Friday Night SmackDown

SmackDown has gone through a number of changes over the past few weeks, not only has the company moved over to FOX, but they have also welcomed a whole new roster following the 2019 WWE Draft and now has a new Executive Director.

SmackDown will be pushed as the main brand in WWE in the coming months since FOX is seen as a much bigger platform for the company to be able to use for their talent. Securing The FOX Network deal was huge for WWE and now the announcements continue.

[adace-ad id=”7797″] recently revealed that Bruce Prichard has been named as the Executive Producer of Friday Night SmackDown and will now be answering directly to Vince McMahon himself as he replaces Eric Bischoff in the role he only secured a few months ago.

The statement that was released on the company’s official website reads:

“Prichard will oversee the creative development of Friday Night SmackDown on FOX and ensure integration across all platforms and lines of business, replacing Eric Bischoff.”

Prichard brings nearly 40 years of experience in sports-entertainment with an extensive background in character development and creative storytelling. During his career, Prichard has served in a variety of roles, including announcer, producer, agent and, on-screen personality. Earlier this year, Prichard returned to WWE as a member of the company’s creative team.

Prichard has been most recently seen on the WWE Network as the host of the “Something To Wrestle With” podcast, where he has shown just how much knowledge he has when it comes to the wrestling business as a whole something that hopefully now translates.

Prichard joins a lucrative team on the Friday Night brand and will seemingly begin his duties this coming week when SmackDown welcomes the likes of Brock Lesnar, The Fiend and Cain Velasquez to the show. This week’s SmackDown could well be one worth tuning into since Prichard’s experience will definitely shine through.
