It was reported yesterday afternoon that Erick Rowan was set to be evaluated by medical professionals after suffering an arm injury at SummerSlam. The former Tag Team Champion missed Monday’s live event in Atlantic City so that he could be assessed and it has now been revealed that he suffered a bicep tear.
Last night on SmackDown Live, Harper and Rowan dropped the SmackDown Tag Team Championships to The New Day in their no-disqualification match, which was a hint that Rowan could be on the sidelines for an undetermined amount of time.
PWInsider recently reported that Rowan will require surgery to fix the tear and will head to Birmingham, Alabama in the near future which is why his recovery time is estimated to be around four to six months.
It is unknown what this means for The Bludgeon Brothers moving forward or if Rowan will delay having the surgery until after his contractual rematch, if WWE decides to grant it to him now.
Luke Harper was a fantastic singles competitor before he was put in a team with Rowan and given the fact that Braun Strowman currently needs backup over on RAW, this could be a great opportunity.
Matt Hardy is also injured which means that whilst Strowman currently needs some backup against The Shield and both Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper are available and it could be the perfect time to reform The Wyatt Family.
These injuries have come at the worst time but something incredible could be born out of the ashes and it could be another incredible showdown between The Wyatt’s and The Shield heading into Hell In A Cell next month.
