Daniel Bryan and The Miz have been at odds ever since The A-Lister was named as The Pro to Bryan’s rookie character in NXT all those years ago.
In the years that have followed Bryan and Miz have had a number of encounters, but the one that garnered the most attention was when the two men were part of a very personal promo on Talking Smack last year.
Bryan had a problem with Miz’s attitude, but there was nothing he could do about it since this was months before he was cleared to return to the ring ahead of this year’s WrestleMania and many fans believed that there was a good chance that Bryan would never be cleared to return to the ring.
Ever since he made his in-ring return, he has been marking off fantasy matches that have included him reuniting with Kane and fighting for the Tag Team Championships enroute to the big money match against The Miz.
Bryan laid down the challenge last week and whilst Miz originally denied Bryan the opportunity to fight him, this week on SmackDown Live, he decided that after negotiating with SmackDown General Manager Paige all day, he was going to give Bryan the gift of relevancy by accepting his challenge for a match at SummerSlam.

Remember, Bryan is yet to sign a new contract with the company and his expiration date is moving closer since SummerSlam takes place on August 19th and his contract expires on September 1st.
This could easily be something that weighs in on the outcome of the match if Bryan’s circumstances don’t change in the days leading up to The Biggest Party of The Summer.
