The highly anticipated Wednesday Night Wars officially kicks off in a few hours as AEW makes their grand TNT debut with Dynamite against WWE NXT on USA Network.

Per the latest ticket sales reports, fans shouldn’t expect a sold-out Capitol One Arena for AEW Dynamite. However, that won’t prevent the upstart promotion from putting up a monstrous show, as proven from their pay-per-views to date.

The 2-hour inaugural program features six matches on the card alongside other segments. So far the booking looks quite promising, and it will be exciting to see how professionally the AEW talents are able to execute the master plan tonight.

  • Chris Jericho & Ortiz and Santana vs The Young Bucks & Kenny Omega
  • Nyla Rose vs Riho to determine the first AEW Women’s Champion
  • PAC vs Hangman Page
  • Cody vs Sammy Guevara
  • MJF vs Brandon Cutler
  • Jon Moxley to appear and more

Former WWE icon and reigning AEW World Champion Chris Jericho is the face of the upstart promotion at present.

While many expected an Elite member to become the inaugural champion, the fact that Jericho alone is a bigger name than AEW itself had played a huge role in deterring the winner of the prestigious title match at All Out.

During a recent interview with New York Post, Matt Jackson of The Young Bucks revealed that veteran Jericho’s illustrious resume rightfully earned him the spot that he’s currently enjoying in the company. In other words, AEW needed someone with a global identity to represent them on the bigger stage and there was nobody on the roster as eligible as the 48-year old megastar.

“We felt like if we want someone to be the identity of this company, it’s got to be the most famous guy who everyone knows and it’s Chris Jericho, who just so happens to be one of the greatest wrestlers of all time,”
