Final NXT Before Takeover XXX Sees a Major Brawl

WWE NXT aired without any competition from Dynamite this week, as TNT rescheduled this week’s broadcast of the show due to clashes with their other shows.

Instead of competing with NXT, Dynamite will be competing with Takeover XXX this Saturday. The go-home episode of Takeover had several storyline advancements, with new matches getting added to the card.

One of the major matches for the PPV, the Ladder Match for the North American Championship, finally filled up the five spots, as former champions Johnny Gargano and Velveteen Dream joined the fray, by defeating Ridge Holland and Finn Balor respectively.

Gargano and Dream will now compete alongside Damien Priest, Cameron Grimes and Bronson Reed in the Ladder Match, which will be for the vacant NA Championship. Keith Lee vacated the title after winning the NXT Championship last month, leading to the announcement of the Ladder Match.

All the five competitors engaged in a brawl in the main-event of the episode, with Bronson Reed coming out as the surprise last-man-standing at the end of the brawl.

A No.1 contender match for the Tag Team Championships was also announced for the Pre-Show at Takeover, with Legado del Fantasma, Breezango and Oney Lorcan-Danny Burch competing to secure a shot at the titles, currently in the possession of Imperium.

Finn Balor was attacked by Timothy Thatcher during his main-event match, which could lead to a potential match between the duo at Takeover.

Also rumored for the card is a possible singles encounter between Mercedes Martinez and former NXT Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley.
