Finn Balor and Kyle O’Reilly had an instant classic at NXT Takeover 31, which left both the stars with wounds of battle. Balor suffered a jaw injury and had to stay out of action for a while, but returned some time ago.
However, he is still not 100%, which he revealed during a conversation with the New York Post, ahead of his encounter against Pete Dunne at Takeover: Vengeance Day this Sunday.
“Yeah, a lot. Grinding my teeth still a lot. Still in pain, still very reluctant to get any type of strike to the face, which was actually something that led to the arm injury in the match versus Kyle (O’Reilly) the second one. I was protecting the jaw so much I actually weakened my arm.”
Balor revealed that wrestling with the jaw injury actually caused more damage to his arm, as he consistently kept on blocking shots to his face with his hand.
Balor has had bad luck with injuries in his WWE career, as his main roster push came to a halt after a shoulder injury in 2016.
Despite the numbness, Balor is all set to battle against the former NXT UK Champion, who has been a thorn in Balor’s side along with his buddies, Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch.
