Finn Balor made an extremely surprising return to WWE last night, when he showed up at Full Sail University to confront NXT Champion Adam Cole.
Balor declared that he is a part of NXT now, which is quite a major development for the black and gold brand of WWE. NXT’s war with AEW on Wednesday nights could’ve been the reason behind this move.
However, Finn Balor won’t come alone to NXT. The inaugural WWE Universal Champion teased a formation of a stable while speaking to NewsWeek. Balor feels that The Undisputed Era needs some toning down, and he will need to assemble his own team to achieve this.
“It’s no problem. I’ve been part of a group before, I’ve been one of those guys who has been an individual [performer] for a very long time. But maybe you need a group to face Undisputed Era, we’ll see.”
Finn Balor also revealed his intentions to stay on the NXT brand for the time being. Balor last appeared on the main roster during his defeat to The Fiend at SummerSlam, where Balor was thoroughly outclassed by Bray Wyatt’s alter ego.
Balor wants to settle the score with The Fiend and he hasn’t forgotten about the treatment he received at WWE SummerSlam.
“Of course that’s something I want to revisit. When is the time we’ll do that? I don’t know, but regarding The Fiend, that is some unfinished business and something I have not forgotten.”
Balor’s stay in NXT is surely going to be a thrilling experience for the WWE Universe, and it would be interesting to see who Balor ropes in for his stable. Balor’s former Bullet Club buddies, Gallows and Anderson, are currently tied up with AJ Styles on RAW.
Finn Balor’s career got turned upside down, and we can only hope for Balor’s success in his second NXT run.
