Finn Balor won the NXT Championship earlier this week after he defeated Adam Cole to become the third 2x NXT Champion in the brand’s decade long history.
Finn Balor spoke with Bleacher Report recently and responded to a question about his famous Demon character.
The Demon has been Balor’s alter-ego in WWE, and the former Universal Champion has brought him out for major matches in the past.
However, Balor feels like the Demon character is completely irrelevant in his current Prince avatar, and won’t make a return to WWE programming for a few years.
Balor wants the Demon to face off against the likes of Brock Lesnar, Braun Strowman and The Fiend, but it won’t be happening anytime soon.
“I feel like The Demon is something that’s very personal to me. I’d definitely like to get back to The Demon vs. The Fiend. I definitely want The Demon vs. Brock Lesnar. I want The Demon vs. Braun Strowman. But right now, I feel with the position I’m in, it would be a step backward. I’m riding the momentum of the work I’ve done as The Prince for the last 11 months, and I want to continue to ride that momentum. I feel like there will be an opportunity to bring The Demon back in the future, but that could be three, four years from now.”
The Demon was last seen in WWE in 2019 when Balor defended his Intercontinental Championship against Andrade at SuperShow Down.
