Inaugural WWE Universal Champion and former NXT Champion Finn Balor is willing to face off against WWE Hall of Famer Edge, and he knows just when and where that match should take place.
“Somebody was talking online about possibly challenging Finn Balor at NXT Takeover and that was Edge,” said Balor during an interview with the Irish Mirror.
“I would like to address that situation right now,” he continued. “Edge was saying he wanted to face Finn Balor at TakeOver so if we could do it at TakeOver Dublin all the better.”
NXT UK: TakeOver Dublin is an event that has been announced for October 25 this year. However, given the current state of the world due to the COVID-19 pandemic, travel is still severely restricted and NXT UK has not held a live event in months.
Speaking to The Mirror, Balor also talked a little more about his thoughts on the Rated R Superstar.
“An absolute legend in the ring, but an absolute gent and a true pro outside the ring,” said Balor.
Edge has previously stated that he would love to appear on a TakeOver to face talent who were not in the WWE before he retired. He doubled down on that statement this week with an interaction with NXT manager Robert Stone.
Stone had Tweeted Edge asking him to join his “Robert Stone” brand.
Edge Tweeted Stone back with a list of demands which Stone should fulfill if they were to “collab”. On top of the list was a match with Balor at TakeOver. He also tagged Balor in the Tweet.
Currently, there have been no updates on the state of TakeOver Dublin. Also, Edge is currently still recuperating from a triceps surgery, so fans might have to wait a while to see this match happen.
