The second annual Mae Young Classic takes place on August 8th and 9th and ahead of the show WWE has been slowly releasing the names for the 32 women who will be involved in the tournament.
Whilst there are a number of names who are returning after failing to win the competition last year, there are some like former Divas Champion Kaitlyn and former TNA Knockout Madison Rayne who’s additions to the show have come as a complete shock.
WWE once again announced five more names for the tournament earlier today and amongst the names involved are former Knockout’s Champion Sienna and the daughter of WWE Hall of Famer Paul Ellering, Rachael Ellering.
Rachael has appeared on WWE TV numerous times before and was part of last year’s competition, whilst Sienna (who’s being referred to by her given name Allysin Kay) was signed to Impact Wrestling until recently.
The other three women who were revealed today are recent Performance Center recruit MJ Jenkins, lucha star Zatara and NXT star Xia Li.
These five women have been added to the list of competitors who have already been announced and WWE now has 31 of the 32 women, which means that the company could have someone exciting up their sleeves to announce in the final week before the tournament gets underway.
There are already some huge names in the competition including UK based star Toni Storm and Io Shirai who have been rumored to be the two women who could make it all the way to the final, but the final name could easily be a game changer since WWE has only made a handful of solo announcements for the tournament so far and they have been huge acquisitions.
