A number of former Ring of Honor stars have made their way over to WWE in the past including Cesaro, Daniel Bryan, Seth Rollins, and Samoa Joe, but it appears that the latest name to be added to this list according to PWInsider is former ROH TV Champion Punishment Martinez.

Speculation has been rife regarding the star’s future over the past few weeks, ever since he turned down a new deal with Ring of Honor back in August. Instead, it appears that Martinez will now report to WWE’s Performance Centre and like many other new signings, he will debut on the NXT brand in the coming months.

Triple H has created quite the brand at Full Sail University over the past few years and has now reached the point where he is attracting talent rather than having to recruit. Martinez was a hot commodity in Ring of Honor and is considered to be a huge acquisition for WWE.

Martinez recently dropped the TV Championship at Ring of Honor tapings in Las Vegas, which is where many fans sat up and took notice since it appeared that his storylines were wrapped up and it was time for him to move forward.

NXT has War Games coming up next month and whilst the company is still yet to officially announce the signing of the former Champion, he could be another star who is unveiled at Takeover ringside, a place that has become just as lucrative as the brand itself.

WWE has been missing something that only Martinez could give them on the NXT brand and with the most recent signing of Matt Riddle, the future of development is definitely looking bright.
