Former WWE Champion Jinder Mahal went under the knife once again this week, after his knee required attention due to an undisclosed injury.
Jinder Mahal returned to RAW last month and was scheduled to get a push, as he was positioned as a dominant star on the red brand. The Modern Day Maharaja had the WWE Championship on his mind, which is currently donning the waist of his former 3MB buddy Drew McIntyre.
Mahal announced his surgery on Instagram with a picture of himself, and bandages surrounding his knee. Mahal was out of action since 2019 due to a knee injury, and it has come to haunt him once again.
“Unfortunately I had to go under the knife again to fix some knee issues. The journey has hit a speed bump, but I will be back stronger than ever.”
Jinder Mahal made his return on April 27, taking down Akira Tozawa in dominant fashion. According to Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE had big plans for the star in a babyface role, instead of his usual foreign heel gimmick.
Mahal made two more appearances after his RAW debut, defeating Denzel Dejournette and Tozawa on Main Event. His last match was on 22nd May, and he may have sustained an injury during this time.
