SmackDown will celebrate their 1000th episode on Tuesday night (Oct 16) and the company has already announced that there are a number of stars making their return to WWE as part of the show.
Evolution’s reunion could be one of the highlights as Randy Orton is joined by Triple H, Ric Flair and Batista on SmackDown for the first time since the group was once seen as a Raw-exclusive team.
Rey Mysterio makes his return to WWE as he faces Shinsuke Nakamura for the right to be part of the WWE World Cup in Saudi Arabia whilst a number of other stars have been rumored to be part of the show including Michelle McCool, The Undertaker, and Edge.
One face that many fans were expecting to see would be former Tag Team Champion Christian, who became known as one of the most exciting stars of the Attitude Era when TLC matches would be the norm and the likes of Matt and Jeff Hardy dominated the roster.
According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, Captain Charisma is not scheduled to make an appearance, which is quite worrying since the show takes place in just four days.
“Thus far, we haven’t heard he is scheduled for the show,” he said as part of a Q&A on the PWInsider website.
Edge and Christian were a huge part of what made SmackDown the show it currently is in the early years as they dominated the Tag Team scene before they went their separate ways and both became World Champion.
It’s a shame that he hasn’t been asked to make a return alongside some of the biggest legends that have made SmackDown Live one of WWE’s top brands.
