The in-house crowd at WWE Starrcade in Cincinnati witnessed a surprise return in the form of one-time WWE Champion and two-time Tag Team champion Bray Wyatt.

Wyatt was last seen on WWE television as part of a tag team with Matt Hardy. The two won the Raw Tag Team championships at the Greatest Royal Rumble but would lose the belts to The B-Team on Extreme Rules.

After their defeat, Hardy took time off to deal with injuries and Wyatt has not been seen on WWE television since.

During Starrcade, acting Raw General Manager Baron Corbin came out to issue an open challenge to anyone in the back to come out and face him.

In response, the lights went out, Wyatt’s music hit and the fireflies came out for the first time in months. Not only is he looking great, he hasn’t missed a step, handily beating Corbin on his first night back.

Check out these fan videos of Wyatt’s entrance and his win over Corbin:

Though Wyatt originally pinned Corbin clean, the acting General Manager refused to accept it. He ordered the match restarted, this time with a No Disqualification stipulation. Corbin might have been hoping to give himself some advantage but the stipulation actually ended up favoring Wyatt. Both Elias and Finn Balor, who have no love for Corbin, came out to help Wyatt pick up the victory again.

Corbin’s open challenge and Wyatt’s return were not originally advertised for the show, nor has it been announced for the Starrcade special that will be aired in the WWE Network. As of now, it remains to be seen how the WWE is planning to integrate Wyatt into the main roster once more.
