Emma was one of the women who helped to push forward the Women’s Revolution in WWE since she was part of the final to crown the first ever NXT Women’s Champion when she lost to Paige back in 2013.
She later went on to perform on the main roster for a number of years before she was released from WWE last year.
Emma has since changed her name back to Tenille Dashwood and signed for Ring of Honor. Many fans expected the former NXT star to be part of Evolution in some way, but reports now suggest that this won’t be happening.
Dashwood was recently part of Ring of Honor’s Death Before Dishonor pay-per-view where she took on Sumie Sakai for the Women of Honor Championship.
Fans expected Emma to win the Championship on Friday night, but instead, the ending was somewhat controversial since the former WWE star seemed to pass out whilst she was locked in an armbar.
Ring of Honor later shot a backstage segment where Dashwood was attacked and her shoulder was worked once again, before she then announced to the live crowd that she would be taking some time away from wrestling to have surgery as well as mentioning a number of other health issues that she has been struggling with in recent months.
PWInsider is reporting that Emma’s shoulder injury is legitimate and that the 29 year old will now require surgery to fix it. Ring of Honor has offered the star a new contract despite the injury which she is expected to sign in the near future, but right now it is unknown how long she will be on the sidelines for.
