The Women’s Revolution in recent years has allowed several former female wrestlers to make their return to WWE.
The upcoming Women’s Royal Rumble opens the door to many more women who are looking to lace up their boots one more time, but former Women’s Champion Layla won’t be one of those stars.
Layla retired from WWE back in 2015 and has since started a career as a Real Estate Agent. The former Diva Search winner recently spoke to Ring The Belle where she was asked about a potential WWE return.
“I just feel that I had a very fruitful long career, and I attained everything I possibly could have attained in WWE, and I was given every opportunity. That door is closed, and I’m okay with that. And I feel just happy that I was able to have that. I look at my past, and I’m like, “Wow I did all that stuff,” and that’s just how I’d like to keep it.”
Layla retired from WWE at a time when the company was gearing up for the Women’s Revolution and went on to marry fellow WWE star Ricky Ortiz.
It appears that the former Champion is content with the career that she had in WWE for almost a decade and won’t be one of the surprise additions in this weekend’s Royal Rumble match.
