It’s often said that All Elite Wrestling’s roster is filled with ex-WWE wrestlers. While it’s true to some extent, AEW doesn’t always sign a former WWE superstar.
Fred Rosser (fka Darren Young) was one of the wrestlers AEW rejected, not once but twice. The former WWE wrestler explained to his fans on Twitter why he hasn’t signed with AEW yet.
He revealed that he applied to AEW but the company rejected him twice. Fred also added that his end-goal was always to work in New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW).
“I get asked a lot why not @AEW? Well, I tried and I was told NOPE…NOT [once] but [twice] …besides AEW wasn’t my end goal it’s always been NJPW @njpw1972 No matter what, don’t ever get overwhelmed and decide to throw in the towel. I’ve still got a lot of work to do! #blockthehate”
Rosser currently works for NJPW. He joined the promotion in August and has been participating in tag team and singles matches since. His stint with WWE ended in 2017.
