Monday Night RAW (ep.no.1336) falls on New Year’s Eve i.e. December 31, 2018. With festivities in full swing all across the globe, analytically it’s considered to be a bad night for a professional wrestling event to air on television, given that almost all the people would be tuning in to watch the the New Year’s Eve celebrations’ coverage on TV.
Moreover, December 31 also appears to be a bad day for the Superstars and all the people involved on and off camera who would rather prefer to be be at home relaxing/celebrating their New Year’s Eve holiday than bust their butts for RAW.
WWE has come up with a quick solution to address the issue: a special RAW taping will be done on Friday night (December 28).

The Little Caesars Arena in Detroit have already made the announcement on Twitter but as of this writing, it’s not known whether RAW will be aired as a live event on Friday night itself or be played on New Year’s Eve as a pre-recorded show.
Christmas Eve also falls on a Monday this year, so it will be interesting to see if WWE runs that night live.
It’s to be noted that airing RAW on 12/31 runs the risk of WWE garnering one of the lowest ratings in the show’s history, if not the lowest rating of 2018 itself.
Tickets for 2018’s final episode of RAW will go on sale on September 15, 2018 at 10 A.M., just one day ahead of the Hell In A Cell pay-per-view event.
